Plastibell device failure?

My son had a plastibell device used with his circumcision that wouldn't come after the the eight days that it was supposed to. My Pediatrician wasn't able to get it off and referred me to the emergency room in a children's hospital. After spending two and a half hours there the doctor wasn't able to cut it off. She then referred me to a urologist who was finally able to get it off, but not without tons of blood and horrific screaming from my newborn. After cauterizing the wound there was a possibility there would need to be stitches and then surgery. Thankfully the bleeding stopped on its own. Now I have to wait two weeks before I will know if there will be any scarring or the possibility of surgery. Do I have any type of lawsuit on my hands I really don't want this happening to any other newborn baby?
