What should I make a painting of?

I have no idea what to paint. I have asked people, but they suggest the overly done things like a flower, a landscape, a field with sheep and a dog. I usually draw things that are a bit more eerie, grotesque, or macabre. My style is usually focusing on one object or thing with a black or unearthly background. The thing in the picture is often something deformed and/or terrifying, and they have something like a message or idea that goes along with them. Nothing like a bold idea. Just subtle. I have no idea what to convey through a painting and have just become so immensely frustrated with myself when I can't think of a single thing to paint. What should I do? Does anyone have an idea or something?
