My left testicle has been swollen and painful for a week?

What kind of doctor should I see about this? Should I go directly to a urologist? I am really worried. I don't feel any bumps or lumps so I don't think it could be cancerous. If any of you have had a similar problem please tell me the cause and what you did to treat it.
