Im 16 and have a varicocele?

im 16 years old and ive had a varicocele. ive had it for more than a year and it shrunk my testicles and it hurts like everyday. my doctor said i should make an appointment with a urologist so im doing that. what will the urologist do? and does a variocele cause low testosterone?
