I have a question related to varicoceles.?
Let me begin by saying that I am a very physically healthy 20 year old man, but, I have on my left testicle a varicoceles. Im not overly concerned about this issue as I know that varicoceles are usually harmless. Early in my adolescents I was diagnosed with mild varicoceles involving the left testicle with no problems whatsoever. Up until recently I have never experienced any physical discomfort. Over the course of the last 3 months ive been lifting weights and strength training with very positive results. I have noticed some inflammation of the veins in my left testicle. Earlier today I saw a urologist. I was told that I have a moderately sized varicoceles in my scrotum calling it a grade 2. I was reassured that I have no reason for concern. He suggested taking an over the counter anti inflammatory for a day or two. He told me some conflicting information about varicoceles only needing repair if it is exceptionally large and causing significant discomfort and or infertility. On several websites on the web it states that it is best to repair this problem when a man is in his teens or early to mid twenties because varicoceles are often progressive, and can potentially cause testicular damage. I would not be concerned at all if the varicoceles had not grow larger. So in short.. I was told by a doc not to be concerned about a grade2 varicocele, so my question is, should I be concerned?
